Which zirconia disc should I choose: White RockSolid or 4D Pro?

Accepted Answer

White RockSolid is a high-translucent white body you shade in the lab with colouring liquid, so one stock disc covers sixteen VITA shades; flexural strength is at least 1400 MPa. 4D Pro is pre-shaded and multilayer: eight layers grade from 1200 MPa and 43% translucency at the cervical to 700 MPa and 57% at the incisal, in 20 shades including BL1–BL4.

Which disc formats and heights are available?

Ø98 mm for open CAD/CAM systems and Ø95 mm for Zirkonzahn, both in 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25 and 30 mm; and an 89 × 71 mm block for Amann Girrbach in 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 25 mm. Confirm the formats you need when you order.

What sizes and translucencies does X max come in?

X max lithium disilicate blocks come in HT and LT, as an 18 × 15 × 13 mm single-unit block and a 40 × 15 × 15 mm multi-unit block, for crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers. One-stage and two-stage crystallisation programmes are published on the Materials page.

Can one X mill do both dry and wet milling?

Accepted Answer

No. Each X mill installs one mode, specified when you order. The dry build mills zirconia, wax, resin, composite and PMMA; the wet build mills glass ceramics and titanium columns. Both builds share 0.02 mm milling accuracy and a 0–60,000 rpm spindle.

Which metals does X sinter print, and how are the powders packed?

X sinter prints CoCr, NiCr and titanium alloy on a Φ120 build plate with a 500 W laser. Cobalt-chrome and nickel-chrome powders come in 5 kg packs; Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Grade 23) and pure titanium in 2.5 kg packs. Particle sizes per alloy are listed on the Machines page.

Will X print and X perm work on my printer?

Accepted Answer

Both resins are made for LCD and DLP printers. The published settings were tested on a 6.6″ monochrome LCD at 3500–4500 µW/cm²; adjust them for your printer and model. Lifting distance scales with screen size, and each resin has its own exposure values.
